Driffield Ukulele Band

A ukulele band is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

Who We Are

In early Spring 2019, a few enthusiastic ukulele players from the Driffield area decided that although playing solo ukulele was good, playing with other like-minded performers was so much better – and a lot of fun.

And so, the Driffield Ukulele Band was born!

What We Do

A ukulele band is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

In our first year we played at many events such as pub evenings, Christmas parties, Women’s Institutes, charity fêtes and functions, residential care homes and at the Beverley Folk Fringe Festival 2019.

We had several bookings made for Spring and Summer 2020, which were cancelled or put back due to Covid-19 and we had to stop practising together once the lockdown began. However, we held weekly Zoom meetings and several of us made recordings at home which were compiled into videos. It takes more than a pandemic to keep a ukulele player down!

In December we recorded our Christmas video compilation and then were busy making more which were added to this site each week, culminating in our ‘Volume 2’ compilation video. Like our Christmas video we donated a copy of our Volume 2 to the Residential Homes in Driffield and a CD to the Driffield and District Talking Newspaper. We have now resumed our weekly band meeting and are enjoying making music together again. We have already played at some outside venues and have other bookings for this summer, so things are looking up. We also hope to add more videos to this site. We hope you enjoy them.

The music we play is varied and includes folk, country, swing and pop.
