Driffield Ukulele Band

A ukulele band is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

Who We Are

In early Spring 2019, a few enthusiastic ukulele players from the Driffield area decided that although playing solo ukulele was good, playing with other like-minded performers was so much better – and a lot of fun.

And so, the Driffield Ukulele Band was born.

What We Do

A ukulele band is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and the Driffield Ukulele Band will do just that!

We enjoy playing at a variety of events – parties, charity functions, fêtes and festivals, pub evenings, Women’s Institutes and residential care homes – small gatherings or large, inside or outside, we’ll be there.

The music we play is varied and includes folk, country, swing and pop.

2022 saw the Band performing at 20 gigs, including a Spring Charity Concert where we joined with The Middle 8 singers , to raise money for our chosen charities. In Summer and Autumn we performed at many events in the Bridlington, Driffield and Beverley areas, a highlight of which was playing in the Acoustic Marquee at the Tribfest Music Festival, Sledmere House.

At Christmas we produced a full length Christmas video – ‘The Driffield Ukulele Band at Christmas Live’ – which is now on YouTube. This was filmed at Wold Newton Church in order to raise funds for church improvements. DVDs of this video were distributed to residential care homes around Driffield.

2023 is proving to be an equally busy year. At the end of February we performed at the Mayor of Driffield’s ‘Thanks a Million’ Tea Party, with an audience of over 100 guests, which was great fun and we’ve featured on a local radio station show (on tempo fm). On the Coronation Bank Holiday, we had our our first venture in conjunction with the Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership. This took place on Bridlington Train Station, where we entertained passengers passing through. Our playlist included songs we had written about the Yorkshire Coast Line railway, which were very well received. We have several other gigs approaching, many of which are open to the public, so please come along and see us. Dates, times and further information can be found under the ‘Future Bookings’ section.
